Protecting your Aurora Italia Jewellery

We recommend that our customers remove their jewellery before going to bed or engaging in physical activities like swimming or diving. Kindly remember that our jewellery should not come into contact with harmful chemicals such as chlorine (swimming pool) or saltwater as this will result in the dulling of its appearance. Remember to avoid contact with makeup, including creams, perfume, and hair spray.



How to clean your jewellery

First, soak the jewellery in warm soapy water for 5-10 minutes. Whilst using a soft toothbrush, brush the jewellery gently in a circular motion. Next, rinse with clean water and dry your jewellery with a hairdryer. Toothbrushes are the perfect cleaning companion for cleaning patterned jewellery as this can otherwise be difficult to clean. We recommend the cleaning of daily worn jewellery once per week.



Oxidised Jewellery

The oxidised jewellery (resulting in the pieces turning black) has undergone special surface treatment. The oxidisation will disappear over time; the process will vary depending on how each jewellery is treated. Perspiration, chlorine, perfumes, cleaning agents and silver polish can cause the fading of oxidisation.



How to Store

We recommend storing the jewellery away from natural sunlight and heat in a lined jewellery box or a tarnish-resistant pouch to avoid scratches and prevent pieces from tarnishing. The jewellery can store in a zip lock bag made from Mylar or polyethene. Remember to keep your jewellery away from moist and damp areas such as the bathroom.



Our Stones

All the stones in our product are first grade Preciosa Cubic Zirconia. Its hardness is 8.5 on the Mohs scale. (compared to a diamond at 10; Sapphire, ruby at 9; Emerald at 7) Furthermore, Preciosa Cubic Zirconia is heat resistant. These factors result in the suitability for daily wearing. Avoid rough handling when not in use and keep different jewellery separate to avoid scratches. Clean with lukewarm soapy water whilst gently brushing the stones.



Our Enamel

Enamel gives each jewellery its beautiful glossy colours coupled with a durable finish. All enamel on Aurora Italia jewellery is applied by hand. Kindly note that excess heat may cause the discolouration of enamel.
